Spectator Expectations (All Events)
ALL SPECTATORS:
The AAPS code of conduct mandates good sportsmanship, which is expected of everyone at all times and at all events. Therein we expect the following from everyone in attendance:
-
All players, coaches, and spectators cheer & encourage appropriately.
-
Cheer in support of your team; however, booing, shouting, insulting, or cheering against opponents is not appropriate in our middle school gym. This includes making noise to distract free throw shooters.
-
Refrain from yelling at game officials, coaches, players, and staff, including those working the scorer’s table.
-
Our stands are very near to the court. For the safety of our players and officials, we need fans to stay off of the court and off the bottom bleacher if there is room elsewhere.
STUDENTS:
-
Students are limited in their movement to half-time and quarter breaks.
-
Do not come in or out of the stands during playing action.
-
Other parts of the building, including lockers, cafeteria, locker rooms and hallways, are closed and off-limits.
-
Remain seated during playing action.
-
School rules and expectations apply to all students at all times.
Enforcement:
Any players, coaches, staff, and/or spectators who violate these expectations will be asked to leave the gymnasium. The building Administration Team will decide the most appropriate time of re-entry, if any.
